Pattuma

“Pattuma” is a modern-day love confession song, from the movie LIK – short for Love Insurance Kompany. Though it is a originally a Tamil song written by Vignesh Shivan, director of the movie himself, it was penned in Telugu by Srinivasa Mouli, a renowned Telugu writer, mostly written songs for Tamil – Telugu Dubbed and Bi-lingual movies. Music was composed by Anirudh Ravichander and vocals are provided by Inno Genga and Ananthakrrishnan.

There is a clever bit of wordplay happening. In the Tamil version, the song says “Pattunu Pottutiyae” where “Pattaunu” is an adverb meaning “Suddenly” or “Quickly”. So, the singer is saying: “You suddenly (Pattanu) caught me, my pattuma!”

As this is a Tamil song, it was made under wordplay but Telugu version did not have those wordplays but was catered perfectly based on the emotions and feelings of main lead.

The Theme of the song and mostly the theme of the movie itself revolves around the online influences, caused up on the people where we are mainly dependent on AI or the internet influencers. To be honest, if that is going to happen, where I take my relationship decisions based on the internet or a corporate company, no, I don’t even like to think about it. But would love to see someone taking decisions. LOL.

Coming back to the song, Yeah, I forgot Elephant in the room, Anirudh Ravichander – Man! He cannot stop to entertain me. Nice music and tuning, though I found it hard to listen to the lyrics and type it there, but musically this is mad!! He added one of the best songs in his albums.
